Select a pellet size
Larger grades generally contain more material and may require more class time. Size does not predict a particular species or number of bones.
Heat-treated barn owl pellets come in three types: Premium #1 whole pellets, Bargain #2 bits and pieces, and Special Unique options such as large halves, barn owl pellets with bird bones, and more!
Size and packaging questions
Does a larger pellet guarantee more bones?
No. The grade describes the pellet's size, not what is inside. Larger pellets usually contain more material to sort, but every specimen is different.
Should I choose wrapped or unwrapped?
Foil-wrapped pellets are individually packaged for easy handout. Unwrapped pellets contain the same kind of specimen without individual foil. Unwrapped pellets may break more easily during shipping and handling.
Where should a first-time class start?
Regular is the middle size grade. Choose Small for less material or Jumbo for more material and a longer sorting session.
Sizes Vary
Pellet dimensions vary within an owl species and from one feeding event to the next. Use the labeled size ranges for ordering; do not infer owl species or prey content from size alone.
